UMovers COVID19 Update and Protocols
Updated - 01/11/2021
With the growing concerns surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and other cold & flu viruses, the health and safety of our clients and HUNKS remain our top priority. In addition to following CDC guidance and monitoring local health department updates, all College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving locations have been equipped with recommended procedures to follow if a team member, client, or local community becomes impacted by the virus.
As our locations are independently owned and operated, please note that these safety precautions may vary from location to location and may also be dependent upon the severity of the situation in any given geographical area.
Our trucks are equipped with gloves and masks to keep our clients and team members safe. Prior to leaving the office, the HUNKS are temperature checked and screened. We also spray down and disinfect the trucks after every move or junk removal service to prevent any spread of germs from one job to the next.
As the situation evolves, College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving locations may implement additional preventative measures to ensure Client and Team Member well-being, including staffing or service modifications.
We are continuing to monitor and follow all guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), including taking the steps necessary to reduce the threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19) exposure to employees and members. We urge everyone to do so as well.
Please visit The Centers for Disease Control website for more information on the Coronavirus (COVID-19), including what you should know about symptoms, treatments, testing, and other frequently asked questions.
Making a difference
College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving is committed to giving back to our community. During this time, we have moved COVID-19 testing supplies sand other medical equipment, relocated beds and goods from one hospital to another, and delivered water to healthcare workers.
We also launched a new program offering free moving services to anyone fleeing domestic violence. With the verification of a certified domestic violence shelter, we will provide free moving services to ensure that victims are supported throughout the transition to ensure their safety. Anyone in a domestic violence situation should first contact the police or a domestic violence shelter immediately. The shelter will contact us to coordinate the move.
Another way we’re giving back to the community is through our partnership with Feeding Children Everywhere. For every job we perform, we donate 2 meals to people battling food insecurity. For many children, the most significant meal they receive is from school. With schools being closed, these children are missing out on necessary nutrition.
As a Purpose-Driven, Socially Conscious moving and junk removal company, we want to help our communities and neighbors during these unique times, while also staying in business as an essential service. We wish you the best and remember, we are all in this together.
